Principle of experiment
Each atom has its own specific energy level structure. It absorbs or emits specific spectral lines during the transition. By measuring these characteristic lines, the chemical composition and relative content of the substance can be determined. The identification method is called spectrum analysis.
Instrument Overview
Take a fan cooling tungsten light source as a reference light source and a spectrometer as the detector. When a transmissive module is installed on the light source, the system can be used to measure the absorbance of solution or gas, then concentration can be calculated. Or used to measurement the transmittance of the translucent material, such as a filter.
When a reflective module is installed on the light source, the system can be used to measure the reflectance of material surface , then color parameters can be calculated.

Experiment 1: Observe different spectrum of various light sources, such as sunlight, LED, etc.

Experiment 2: By measuring the transmittance curve, the optical characteristics of the sample can be obtained , such as center wavelength, transmittance, and FWHM..
Filter Spectrum
Experiment 3: By measuring the absorbance curve of a liquid sample, the concentration of the sample can be calculated based on the Lambert-Beer law.
KMnO4 Concentration Measurement
Experiment 4: Using a standard A light source as the reference light, the reflectance curve and the colorimetric parameters of the sample can be measured.
